Regular meeting of the Tow of Hadley Town
Board held Thursday, August 8th 2019 at 7 PM at 4 Stony Creek Road,
Hadley NY.
Members present: Supervisor, Arthur Wright
Councilman, Charles Ovitt, Carl Lawrence, James Brewster
Also present: Highway Superintendent, Andrew Gilbert,
Attorney Raeann Johnson and Pauline G. Smead, Town Clerk
Councilwoman, Colleen DeMarsh, absent
Motion was made by Charles Ovitt seconded by James
Brewster to approve the transfer for: General: Transfer $152.31 from Code 1620.1
(Buildings) to Code 7110.4 (Parks) All Ayes
Motion was made by Charles Ovitt seconded by Carl
Lawrence to approve the transfer for: SW2: Debit Code 909 (Fund Balance) by
$6,704.46, Credit Code 960 (Appropriations) Sub-Code 8320.4 by $6,704.46. All
Ayes.
RESOLUTION # 56 was made by a motion from Carl Lawrence seconded
by Charles Ovitt
BE IT
RESOLVED that
the Town Board of the Town of Hadley have audited all pre-paid vouchers and all
have been approved. All Ayes.

RESOLUTION # 57 was made by a motion from Charles Ovitt seconded
by Carl Lawrence
BE IT RESOLVED that
the Town Board of the Town of Hadley have audited all vouchers and all have
been approved for payment. All ayes.

Public Comments:
Mrs.
Susan Wilder informed the Town Board about an event which will take place on
September 7th & 8th. This event is The Homecoming of the
Adirondack Regiment- 118th NY
Volunteer Infantry
Mr.
Robert Springer informed the Town Board about how beautiful the chairs were at
the Senior Center. They have been cleaned by a professional.
The
Town Clerk received permission to have the chairs upstairs cleaned also. She
will contact the company and make an appointment.
Highway
Superintendent’s report was verbal. He informed the Town Board about the paving
being done on Hadley Hill. They still have the shoulders to do which they will have
the County machine next week to finish the project.
They
are also working on the sand pile for next winter.
Supervisor
Wright’s report was verbal. He informed the Town Board about the meeting with
the Insurance Company on Tuesday and what had taken place.
RESOLUTION # 58 was made by a motion from
Charles Ovitt seconded by Carl Lawrence.
BE
IT RESOLVED that the Town of Hadley Town Board will stay with Blue Cross
and Blue Shield as last year. All Ayes.
Supervisor
Wright discussed the change of day for the September meeting. After a short
discussion the Board made a decision.
RESOLUTION # 59 was made by a motion from
Charles Oiivtt seconded by Carl Lawrence.
BE
IT RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Hadley will hold their
September meeting at 7PM on the 19th of September instead of the 12th.
All Ayes.
Supervisor
Wright informed the Town Board about MG Engineering who is in charge of
replacing the culvert on Parker Road will hold a Public Information Meeting on
September 19th at 6:30 prior to the Town Board meeting.
Supervisor
Wright also informed the Town Board that Budget requests will be mailed out on
Monday or Tuesday of next week.
He
also stated that a Budget Workshop is scheduled for Thursday September 19th
at 5PM
Also
a “Ride For Cure” will be taking place on September 14th. Bikers
will be riding through the Town of Hadley that day but all precautions have
been taken. Sheriffs and State troopers have been notified.
Also,
Supervisor Wright informed the Town Board that a class was available for
Brandon Purvis and Andrew Hay for Water & Sewer Operators.
RESOLUTION #60 was made by a motion from
Carl Lawrence seconded by James Brewster.
BE
IT RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Hadley hereby approves for
Brandon Purvis and Andrew Hay to attend a class for Water & Sewer Operator
at the cost of $935.00 each. All Ayes.

Mrs.
Wilder asked about the fencing at the Gray Cemetery. She was informed that a
truck destroyed it and never informed anyone. They will replace it, not with a
chain link fence but something presentable.

was made by James Brewster seconded by Charles Ovitt to adjourn this meeting at
7:20PM. All Ayes.
